About the Artist: Given my first camera at age nine, I happily snapped pictures on a train trip to Toronto, opening the camera after each shot to see the image! I remember being very was perplexed as to why it was not there. I set up my first darkroom at age eleven, finished top of my class from a photography program in Toronto at 21, and have been shooting professionally since. For a number of years I ran my own gallery/lab/studio in Vancouver and gained a reputation as a master Black & White printer, working and consulting with a broad range of photographers and artists.

The images presented in this gallery were shot with a Leica M4 on Kodak Black & White Infrared film. I experimented with many developers and eventually mixed my own in order to manage the contrast and tonal range of this exceptional film.

Brian won the BEST OF SHOW for his collection of works in the Black and White 2007 Art Exhibition.
